FriendLoc

Privacy

Stay close. Quietly. Signed in? Open Privacy & data from your account menu to export or delete your account.

What we store

Account details: display name, email, optional username, whether you allow findability (username or display name), sign-in providers and sessions, and a password hash if you use email sign-in.

Place: city, optional area, country, city-level map coordinates, optional “living here since,” and when you last updated it.

Identity: avatar and cover images, place of work, travelling, and life-route stops.

Social graph: mutual connections, pending and past connection requests involving you, circles you own and how you tag people, and invites you create.

Offline contacts: people you add manually who are not on FriendLoc — you may store their name, city-level place, and email or phone they gave you; only you can see these entries.

Product data: in-app notifications, and supporter, referral, or purchase records when those apply.

What we do not collect

FriendLoc is not live GPS. We do not store street-level addresses, continuous tracking, device battery, or always-on location.

Who sees what

You can see everything on your own account.

Mutual connections can open your full identity card and city-level place (including a map pin used for distance). They do not see your email.

Circle tags are private to you. Putting someone in a circle does not show them your other friends or create a shared group room.

New connections go through a request you can accept or refuse. Refusing is quiet — we do not notify the sender.

If you enable findability, people can search your username or display name and send a request. They see a limited preview (name, avatar, cover, username) — not your city-level place — until you accept.

Anyone with your invite link can also request to connect; the same preview and request rules apply until you accept.

After you connect, mutual visibility applies. Disconnect is mutual and quiet — we do not notify the other person.

Retention, export, and deletion

We keep your data while your account exists.

Download my data gives you a JSON snapshot at that moment. Deleting your account later does not recall that file.

Delete account removes personal data FriendLoc controls in its database, including your profile, place, life route, offline contacts, circles you own, connections and connection requests involving you, invites, notifications, and sessions.

If you purchased Supporter, Stripe may retain payment records for accounting and legal requirements even after your FriendLoc account is deleted.
